Youth Workers

This year we are fortunate to have two Youth Workers join the B-12 Wellbeing Team at Avenues College.  Vivienne Raikes and Tom Duddy will be working in consultation with the B-12 Wellbeing team to support ALL students.

Vivienne Raikes
My name is Vivienne Raikes and I am a new Youth Worker at Avenues College, I am really excited to be part of the school. You may see me around the library at lunch times running activities and everyone is welcome to join in the fun, ideas for activities you want to do are also welcome. I will be supporting specific programs for students in Term 2 about respectful relationships, mental health and wellbeing and teaching self-regulation strategies through the Rock N Water program with Mike Haynes.

A little about myself, I have been a youth worker for twenty three years supporting young people mostly teenagers with their emotional and social wellbeing. Yes, that makes me old, but wise! I am originally from Western Australia and a Fremantle Dockers supporter, I like to spend my free time exploring Australia's outback and catching a fish or two. I have a boat license and am a bus driver.  Mostly, I enjoy a good chat so come past and say hello in the office next to MC24, the door is always open.

Tom Duddy

My name is Tom Duddy and I am a new Youth Worker at Avenues College. I am here to help all B-12 students engage with their learning and engagement and social and emotional wellbeing. I have many years of experience working at Wiltja Boarding as a Youth Worker supervising students and taking them on recreational activities and excursions.

A little bit about myself, I have been a youth worker for seventeen years supporting young people. I am originally from London, England and I have been living in the Adelaide Hills for a very, very long time. My hobbies include gardening, music, travelling, reading and the Arts. I am also a bus driver and could be taking you to exciting places in the near future.

I am located with Vivienne Raikes in the office next to MC24 opposite the stairwell, and you are welcome to visit me at any time or make an appointment to meet with me during the school day.
